MARRAKECH + IMILCHIL + TAROUDANT + TAFRAOUTE

 

 

We’ll drive you through High Atlas, Middle Atlas and the Anti Atlas. Marrakesh for its Berber influenced ambiance, Imilchil for its fantastic lakes and mountain landscapes, where Middle Atlas reaches the High Atlas
 Gorges du Todra for incredible canyon sceneries, Taroudannt for its High Atlas sceneries at far, and finally Tafraoute for another village to relax in the Anti Atlas along with Oasis and Olive trees.

Marrakech
Marrakech is the capital of the South. The wonder of many travelers than even with lots of tourist activity still remains special and unique. Marrakesh was in history for 2 times the capital of Morocco and actually gave the nowadays western name of Morocco. Marrakesh was founded in 1062 by Almoravid Sultan Youssef Ben Tachfinand, and quickly became very prosperous and one of the most important Islamic cultural and artistic centers as it was expanded after the conquest of Spain by the Almoravid Sultan. Marrakesh offers a lot to travelers and Arrahla Expeditions recommends at least 2 full days in this thrilling town. Its famous square, Djeemaa Elfna is one of its main attractions and is a mixture of restaurant stands along with snake charmers, monkeys, acrobats, fire blowers, loud live music and endless Souq gates. Indeed a must while in Morocco.

Imilchil and Isli & Tislite Lakes
Imilchil is a small Berber village in the heart of the Middle Atlas and its well known in Morocco for its Berber Wedding Festival where woman choose their partners. This village as to offer from simplicity and smooth humble Berber houses and hotels but in the other hand, amazing mountain views and fertile valleys are something remaining off the beaten-path to many visiting Morocco. Tislite and Isli Lakes are without a doubt the most beautiful lakes in North Africa and its colors change beautifully 12 months per year. 

Tinerhir and Gorges du Todra Canyons
Tinerhir is a mining bustling town that serves tourism for the Gorges du Todra and the nearby “palmeraies”. These valleys near by are supposed to be on the top rank in the world for the most quantity of palm trees per square meter. Palm trees along huge mountains and Kasbahs all the way to the breath taking Gorges du Todra. Gorges to Todra are a fabulous Canyons and rock fault diving the High Atlas from the Jbel Saghrou where its highest point gets up to 300m in which you can pass right on the bottom. This pink rose and strong ochre colored rock formation offers unforgettable views.

Taroudant
This city was founded in the 12th Century and it boasts now a specific atmosphere. It is sorrounded by the walls of a castle and in the northern areas you can enjoy magnificent views of the High Atlas summits covered by snow. It is a city that has preserved its medieval Berber character as well as its market where you can do your shopping in a more quiet way than it is the case with the majority of the northern cities.

This city of the Sousse Valley was the capital of Morrocco during the Saad dinasty until Marrakesh was established as capital. You can visit Bab el Kasbah, the Saad gates and the hovels. 

Tafraoute
Tafraoute is situated in the wonderful Vallée d'Ameln. This tiny village is sorrounded by mountain slopes. At the end of February and the beginning of March, Tafraoute and the sorrounding villages celebrate, for several days, the almond harvest with music, dance and singing. Southwards from Tafraoute, you can find the Oasis d'Afella-Ighir, the Aït Mansour Gorges as well as the the tiny village of Aït Mansour. All this fabulous region of the Anti Atlas should be visited by no means! You will be marvelled by the astonishing panoramique views and the many oasis scattered along the valleys which host the Tachelhid Berber villages.

Note: The order of the visit changes and depends on your arrival point. If you arrive in Marrakesh, the circuit will start differently than if you  arrive in Casablanca or in the northern border with Ceuta.
