  LUGGAGE

 • Travel bag or large backpack

 • This luggage will go in the aircraft hold and will be carried by mules or camel during the ride.

 • The weight of the luggage must not exceed 20 Kg, we kindly ask you to respect the weight limit.

 Equipment and clothing to pack in your travel bag (suggested list)

  • Sleeping bag

  • Linen and small pillow (if you wish)

  • Canvas hat or chèche scarf

  • Cotton T-shirt or shirts

  • Sweater or polar (for cooler nights)

  • Wind coat and rain coat

  • Light trekking pants

  • Cotton trousers or jeans for city tours

  • Outfits for the evenings

  •  Cotton shorts

  • Underwear and socks

  • A pair of (old) tennis shoes to walk in the water or for the stops

  • A good pair of walking shoes for hiking, sandals for the desert

  • A pair of spare laces, a needle and thread

  • Sunglasses and solar and moisturizing lip balm

  • A padlock to lock the hold baggage if it is not provided with a zipper

  • Towels and washcloth, a box of wipes

  • Soap and biodegradable shampoo

  • Toilette kit / first aid kit

  • Pocket knife and tweezers

  • Flashlight or headlamp with batteries and spare bulbs

  • Toilet paper and lighter (to burn your little pink paper!)

  • Backpack

    For your camera and film, sunglasses and goggles, flashlight or headlamp, sunscreen, Kleenex, personal medication, water bottle, lighter, toilet paper, etc...

 Carrier

  • The mules or camels are accustomed to carry equipment and your travel bag.

  • They may occasionally relieve the weary hiker.

  • For young children, we recommend a saddled animal

  HEALTH

  • Our tours require no special training. However you should be in good physical condition for the hiking..

  • No vaccination is mandatory.

  • Water treatment is recommended, regardless of the source of supply and the season. For the contrary, when tea is served, you should not worry; the water is boiled at high temperatures.

  • The best precaution remains the prevention!

  • Notice: a can of Coca-Cola will give you strength if symptoms set in.

  • Take with you a first aid kit!

    List of recommended drugs:

    • a broad spectrum antibiotic (e.g. Clamoxyl)

    • eye – drops, nose disinfectant

    • an antiseptic pomade; wound disinfectant (e.g. Hexomedine)

    • an antibacterial water disinfectant

    • a moisturizing and anti- itching and pomade (e.g. Arnica / Ketum)

    • ampoules, dressings, plaster band

    • pain killers (Aspirin / Tylenol), an anti-inflammatory

    • Antifatigue supplements (e.g.  Dextrose); pills for cramps

    • Diarrhea and bowel pills

 ENVIRONMENT REGULATION

  • You are asked to burn and bury on site biodegradable waste residues. As for the others, they should be put in a plastic bag and taken to the garbage collection sites. Do not pollute well water, that's all that nomads have to live on (take with you biodegradable shampoos and soaps). Respect cultivations and plantations.

 PHOTOS

  • It is important to obtain the consent of residents before trying to take photos of them and be able to give up taking a photo if payment is required in order to prevent commercial tendencies.

 GIFTS

  • Gifts are to be offered only in the context of an exchange, like being invited to drink tea in a tent or in a home. Avoid making gifts out of the above mentioned situation. Do not offer alcoholic drinks, it is forbidden.

  • For the contrary, if you wish to offer items of clothing you r use, you can leave them to the guide or mule or camel riders.

  • If you wish to leave give away the medicine you no longer need, it is recommended to give it to the guide who will know better how to share it at the end of the trip. Similarly, school supplies should be given to school teachers.
